As our Grant Writer, you’ll research funding opportunities, draft compelling grant proposals, and collaborate with teams across the organisation. Every day offers the chance to work on projects with lasting community impact.
What You’ll Do
Your typical work activities will include:
• Draft, prepare, and edit grant proposals and reports for various funding sources
• Research potential funding opportunities and match them with organisational needs
• Meet with team members and stakeholders to develop grant proposals
• Research and compile listings of potential grant sources
• Draft grant budgets in line with policies and funder guidelines
• Use online submission portals to download templates and prepare materials for review and submission
• Coordinate proposal teams and organise grant-related projects
• Assist in maintaining continued funding through reporting and grant maintenance
• Monitor active grant projects and review compliance and reporting deadlines
• Support grant project coordinators with ongoing project activities and necessary reporting
• Apply principles of diversity and inclusion in all grant writing and development work
• Research data and evidence to support grant narratives and justifications
What We’re Looking For
Essential abilities:
• Ability to write reports and prepare documents following guidelines
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and understand funding guidelines and grant documents
• Ability to understand and maintain budget documents
• Ability to operate computers and relevant software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• One year of experience writing grants for submission to federal, state, and/or private funding sources
Desirable qualifications:
• Master’s degree
• Two or more years of grant writing experience with federal and/or state agencies
• Experience writing grants in an academic environment
• Experience monitoring and managing grant budgets
• Understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community members
