About this role:
We’re looking for an entry-level Multimedia Content Producer to help shoot, edit, and produce content for news and digital platforms. You’ll work on a variety of stories, from daily news segments to special features, and collaborate with a team of reporters, editors, and production staff. This is a fully remote-eligible position that welcomes beginners with a willingness to learn.
What you’ll do:
• Write clear, factual news stories in a conversational style for assigned shows and newscasts
• Identify and research story ideas; set up and conduct interviews
• Shoot and edit video and still images for web, app, and broadcast platforms
• Use video editing software to modify, enhance, and apply effects to visual content
• Work with lighting, lenses, tripods, and other standard video equipment
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, and assignment editors on newsgathering and coverage
• Make decisions on story layout, video and audio elements, graphics, and timing
• Meet strict deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards
• Produce special programming as assigned
• Verify that written stories align with video being edited
• Follow all safety guidelines and professional standards
Skills/background needed:
• Experience shooting and editing television news footage (2+ years preferred, but training provided)
• Ability to write clearly and concisely for broadcast
• Familiarity with video editing software
• Knowledge of social media platforms
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of current events and news trends
• Ability to anticipate challenges in dynamic news coverage
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to distinguish colors and hear audio clearly
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
Education:
High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field is preferred but not required.
Working conditions:
• Work both indoors in climate-controlled environments and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Flexibility to work different shifts and adjust to schedule changes as needed
• Ability to drive safely to different locations while obeying all traffic laws
Rate:
Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
