Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time lecturer to teach in a dedicated writing program focused on helping students develop core skills in written communication, critical thinking, and information literacy. In this role, you will teach seminar-style writing courses and assess student work across various thematic areas.
About the Role
As a lecturer, you will guide students in developing university-level academic writing skills and engage them in critical thinking and reading. Your courses will help students move beyond basic competency and produce strong analytical work. The program offers courses across multiple thematic threads to suit different learning interests.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Teach writing and course content in seminar-style classes
• Assess and provide feedback on student writing and coursework
• Develop and deliver course materials that support student learning
• Help students build critical thinking and communication skills
Rate
Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract Length
Part-time, annual. Positions are eligible for continuing status after 18 successful quarters of teaching.
Skills & Background Needed
Required qualifications:
• Master’s degree (MA or MS) in Composition, Rhetoric, Writing Studies, English, Literature, History, Ethnic Studies, or a related field aligned with writing instruction
• At least one year of teaching experience
Preferred qualifications:
• PhD, MFA, or other terminal degree
• Experience using a learning management system
