About the role:
We’re looking for detail-oriented individuals to join our environmental team as a Permit Writer. In this role, you’ll review permit applications, conduct environmental research, and draft technical documents to protect water quality and public health. You’ll work with regulated facilities, municipalities, and the public to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
No prior experience is required. We provide full training on all regulations, processes, and software tools you’ll need to succeed.
What you’ll do:
Review and evaluate permit applications for regulatory compliance
Perform environmental calculations and analysis using established methods
Draft and maintain technical guidance documents and standard operating procedures
Manage environmental projects from start to finish
Respond to inquiries from facilities, municipalities, and the public
Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate findings both verbally and in writing
Work independently and collaboratively with team members
Skills/background needed:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, hydrogeology, hydrology, geology, biology, or related science discipline (or equivalent work experience)
2-5 years of environmental work experience preferred but not required for entry-level candidates
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to understand and apply environmental regulations
Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and technical software
Ability to follow detailed procedures and technical instructions
Willingness to learn and grow in a regulated environmental field
