About This Role
We’re looking for someone to help shape how a growing product is understood and presented to customers. You’ll work with a team that has built something real and is gaining traction – now the challenge is explaining it clearly.
Many products can solve multiple problems, which makes them powerful but sometimes confusing to explain. Your job will be to identify the core customer problem that matters most, explain the product clearly, and show how customers can expand their use over time.
What You’ll Do
You will own how the product is presented to the market by:
• Defining how to describe the product, the problem it solves, and what makes it different
• Identifying which customer problems and use cases are most important to lead with
• Speaking regularly with customers, prospects, and the sales team to understand what creates interest and what causes confusion
• Turning complex product capabilities into clear, simple business value
• Creating and improving website copy, sales materials, product pages, customer stories, and other core content
• Building case studies that show what the product does in real-world situations
• Working with product, sales, and leadership teams to ensure everyone tells one consistent story
• Helping the sales team develop clear language, examples, and proof points they can use in customer conversations
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you’ll help the company achieve:
• A clear message that customers can understand in just a few sentences
• Consistent messaging across the website, sales materials, and customer conversations
• A sales team that knows which problems to lead with for different buyer types
• Faster sales conversations because the product feels focused and easy to understand
• Strong customer stories and examples that help buyers trust the product
• A clear position for the product in customers’ minds
Who We’re Looking For
Experience that helps:
• Product marketing, marketing strategy, or marketing communications
• Marketing a product that does many things or is technical
• Developing messaging based on customer interviews and sales feedback
• Creating customer stories and case studies
• Marketing enterprise software
• Writing clearly about complex topics
Qualities that matter:
• You understand that explaining everything a product can do isn’t always the best way to market it
• You can listen to customers and tell the difference between what interests them and what they’ll pay to solve
• You explain complex ideas in direct, simple language
• You care whether your messaging actually helps attract the right customers and move sales forward
• You can focus on a clear starting point without losing sight of bigger opportunities
• You’re willing to challenge assumptions and change your mind when evidence supports it
• You’re comfortable setting strategy and doing the hands-on work to bring it to life
• You work well with uncertainty and can make informed decisions before every question is answered
Why This Role Matters Now
The product works and has real customers. The next challenge is explaining it so the right buyers understand why they need it. You’ll help define how the market perceives the product and make it easier for customers to see its value.
What We Offer
• Fully remote work – manage your own schedule from anywhere
• Competitive pay with early-stage equity as part of the package
• Full training and support to help you succeed
• Direct collaboration with product, sales, and leadership teams
• The opportunity to shape how a growing product is understood by the market
• A role where your work has immediate, visible impact
