Proposal Writer – Full Time, Entry Level

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Proposal Writer to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based at our office with standard business hours. We provide advisory services to government agencies across the United States, and we’re looking for someone to help us grow—and grow with us.

The Role:

As a Proposal Writer, you will develop, write, and edit clear, well-structured proposal content. You’ll work with subject matter experts to turn technical information into cohesive, client-focused submissions that stand out.

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze solicitation documents to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, and submission instructions
• Research and draft proposal content, including executive summaries and technical sections
• Edit and format documents for clarity, consistency, and impact
• Maintain and update proposal tracking using spreadsheets and other standard tools
• Design and update charts, tables, and graphics for proposals
• Prepare final submissions in required formats (PDF, portals, printed copies)
• Develop compliance matrices to ensure all requirements are addressed
• Contribute to proposal graphics and marketing content
• Gather information by interviewing subject matter experts and identifying reliable sources
• Attend strategy meetings to understand key themes and translate them into persuasive proposal content
• Support post-submission tasks such as amendments and clarifications
• Improve proposal processes by evaluating and redesigning templates and workflows
• Maintain version control of proposal documents throughout development

Skills/Background Needed:

• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and PDF tools
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex documents
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and subject matter experts
• Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities
• Technical skills in document formatting and graphics development
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• Willingness to maintain confidentiality and pass a background check

Experience with government procurement or formal proposal training is a plus, but not required. We provide full training for entry-level candidates.
