Overview:
We’re looking for a friendly, energetic Retail Merchandiser to join our team supporting deli departments at retail locations across the region. This is a full-time, on-site role where you’ll enhance the customer experience through product knowledge, in-store sampling events, and quality customer engagement during peak shopping hours, including weekends. You’ll work across multiple locations within your assigned area, so you’ll need reliable transportation.
What You’ll Do:
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Assess deli service needs throughout the day and adjust your support to meet changing customer demands in real time
• Engage warmly and professionally with customers, offering product suggestions and sharing recipe ideas to build brand loyalty
• Host in-store sampling and product pairing events, focusing on attractive product presentation and food safety
• Educate customers on product quality, flavors, nutritional information, and how items pair well together
• Set up and maintain eye-catching product displays that are fully stocked, clean, properly priced, and visually appealing
• Provide training and mentoring to deli staff on customer service, product knowledge, slicing techniques, and best practices
• Update merchandising materials and marketing displays as needed
• Maintain a neat, clean, food-safe work area at all times
• Complete special projects and additional tasks as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years working in a customer-facing brand or retail role (or 3+ years in retail sales or customer service)
• Basic computer skills
• A positive, energetic attitude and genuine interest in serving customers
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and operate a food slicer
• Food preparation experience is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 4 hours per shift
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch safely
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs
• Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments
• Ability to set up and transport a folding table, sampling utensils, platters, and other materials
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, on-site position. You’ll work during peak customer traffic periods, including weekdays and weekends, typically until 7 pm. You must have your own reliable transportation and be willing to travel to different retail locations within your assigned area. An internet-enabled mobile phone is required.
Contract length: Full time, ongoing
