About the role
We are looking for a Science Writer to join our research team. You will work with researchers and clinical investigators to help translate complex scientific and medical information into clear, accessible content. Your writing will reach diverse audiences—medical professionals, patients, families, and the general public—helping them understand important research findings and their real-world impact.
This is an on-site position where you’ll collaborate closely with a supportive team of healthcare professionals and researchers who are passionate about advancing medical knowledge and improving people’s lives.
What you’ll do
• Write clear and engaging scientific articles, research papers, and manuscripts that explain clinical research findings and their significance• Take technical scientific information and adapt it into content that different audiences can understand—whether they’re medical professionals, patients, or the general public• Work with researchers to understand their studies and communicate their findings accurately and effectively• Create patient-friendly educational materials, brochures, and online resources explaining research studies, treatment options, and informed consent procedures• Draft press releases and media materials to share research breakthroughs with journalists and media outlets• Maintain content on the organisation’s website, research portals, and communication platforms to ensure accuracy and freshness• Create engaging social media content to raise awareness of research initiatives and promote the organisation’s work
Skills/background needed
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as biology, chemistry, life sciences, communications, or similar)• 1–2 years of experience in science writing, healthcare communications, or a related writing role• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly• Ability to understand and translate research data and clinical research methodologies• Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to explain medical concepts accurately• Strong project management skills; able to meet deadlines and juggle multiple writing assignments• Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities• Willingness to learn and adapt to new topics and audiences
