Role: Senior Editor covering energy, sustainability, and related business topics for a global publishing platform.
Work you’ll do
You’ll work with researchers, subject matter experts, designers, and production specialists to develop and publish research articles, reports, infographics, videos, and multimedia projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with thought leaders, business professionals, and internal teams to strategize and develop research and insights projects on energy and sustainability topics
Acting as a trusted advisor to content creators, helping them develop ideas and plan publishing opportunities
Ensuring the accuracy and credibility of published content by asking critical questions about data sources, methodology, and conclusions; maintaining precision in language and statistics
Serving as a storytelling strategist—recommending the best content format (articles, infographics, videos, dashboards) to communicate insights effectively
Adapting to project needs as a writer, editor, copywriter, or scriptwriter to help tell stories successfully across different mediums
Editing copy for factual accuracy, grammar, readability, and style, while applying search engine optimization best practices
Coordinating with authors, designers, marketing teams, and other colleagues to ensure project objectives are met and timelines are achieved
Coaching junior writers and editors on language, style, storytelling, and publishing processes
Contributing to team-wide initiatives focused on quality improvement and publishing innovation
The team
You’ll be part of a global publishing team comprising editors, production specialists, designers, and multimedia professionals located around the world. Skills/background needed:
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in writing, editing, and copyediting business content (journalism background is a plus)
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, literature, journalism, communications, or similar field)
Deep familiarity with editing content related to energy, sustainability, and environmental topics
Exceptional editing and copyediting skills with mastery of American English grammar and style
Strong writing and communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
Journalist’s instinct for fact-checking and critical thinking—comfort reading research with healthy skepticism and spotting logical gaps or overstatements
Versatile editing skills, from writing headlines and web copy to editing long-form research reports
Experience creating or managing multimedia content
Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with confidence working across all levels and comfort with independent decision-making
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and experience with content management systems and team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams
Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously
Comfortable working independently and as part of a larger multifunctional team
Nice to have: Experience at a business news publication or publishing house, background in corporate thought leadership, experience working remotely with global teams, or professional experience in the energy and sustainability sector.
