We’re looking for a Service Writer to manage the front-office operations of a busy repair shop. You’ll be the central point of communication between customers, technicians, and management, keeping everyone informed and jobs moving smoothly.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
● Answering phones, texts, and customer inquiries
● Writing estimates and repair orders
● Scheduling incoming work and managing the shop calendar
● Communicating with customers about diagnostics, repairs, approvals, pricing, and completion dates
● Following up on estimates and getting work approved
● Keeping technicians supplied with the information they need for each job
● Ordering and tracking parts
● Keeping customers updated while their vehicle is in the shop
● Invoicing and collecting payment
● Helping identify additional needed repairs and presenting those recommendations to customers
● Keeping the front office and workflow organized
● Working directly with management and lead technicians to keep jobs moving
Skills/background needed: Organized and detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with customers about repair costs, professional phone manner, able to manage multiple jobs at once, reliable attendance, proactive follow-up skills, willingness to learn repair information, ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior automotive or service-writing experience is helpful but not required. Full training provided.
What Success Looks Like
You’ll know what is happening with every vehicle in the shop, what parts need ordering, what needs customer approval, and what needs to happen next. Customers receive timely updates without having to chase for information, technicians have the details they need without searching, and jobs keep moving forward because follow-ups happen consistently.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
