Roles: As a Social Media Assistant, you’ll play a key role in creating and managing social media content. Reporting to your supervisor, you’ll be responsible for content creation, engagement, and supporting overall social media strategy across multiple platforms.
What you’ll do:
Social Media Content Creation & Management
Monitor the social media calendar to ensure timely and accurate posting of updates, events, and announcements.
Develop engaging digital content, including video editing, graphic design, and creative storytelling to build engagement with your audience.
Research and implement emerging trends and engagement strategies to enhance social media presence.
Maintain a consistent tone and voice across all platforms, following brand guidelines and best practices.
Schedule and post content across platforms in alignment with team objectives.
Engagement & Community Involvement
Attend events and programs to capture real-time content, including video, photography, and social stories.
Actively monitor and respond to comments, messages, and follower interactions.
Build positive relationships with your audience both online and in-person.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the social media team to align messaging and strategies.
Communicate regularly with supervisors, providing updates on project progress and content performance.
Display professionalism in all interactions and model positive relationships with colleagues and audiences.
Skills/background needed: No prior experience is required. Full training will be provided. You should have strong communication skills, enjoy working with social media platforms, and be comfortable learning new tools. Experience with design tools like Canva or video editing is beneficial but not necessary. A genuine interest in engaging with audiences and telling compelling stories through social media is more important than formal experience.
Contract length: Part-time position
Work environment: This is a flexible, part-time position based on-site. You’ll need to be available for a variable schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and flexible periods throughout the year. All applicants must successfully complete a background check as part of the employment process.
