Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for evening and weekend coverage as needed for events.

About the Role

We’re looking for an entry-level Social Media Coordinator to help manage our organisation’s social media presence. In this role, you’ll create and share engaging content, interact with our online community, and help tell our story across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.

This is a hands-on position perfect for someone looking to build experience in social media management and digital communications. You’ll work closely with a supportive team and have the opportunity to develop real, practical skills in a professional environment.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Publishing:

• Create and publish engaging content across multiple social media platforms

• Write captions and adapt stories for social media audiences

• Capture, edit, and share photos, videos, graphics, and other visual content

• Cover events and share behind-the-scenes moments

Community Engagement:

• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a friendly, professional way

• Build positive relationships with our online community

• Flag important issues or trends for the team to review

Analytics & Improvement:

• Track how our content is performing using built-in platform analytics

• Prepare regular reports on engagement, audience growth, and content performance

• Suggest improvements based on what’s working well

Team Collaboration:

• Work with colleagues across the organisation to gather story ideas

• Support student content creators and contributors

• Help maintain our social media accounts and brand voice

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A passion for storytelling and visual content

• Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms

• Basic experience with creative tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Attention to detail and sound professional judgment

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellent customer service

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Experience:

• One to three years of supporting or managing social media for an organisation, non-profit, or brand

• A portfolio or examples of social media work you’re proud of

• Experience working with student teams or volunteers

• Familiarity with social media scheduling and management platforms

• Knowledge of accessibility best practices for digital content

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field

• A valid driver’s license

• Ability to work locally at our office Monday through Friday

• Flexibility to cover events and activities outside standard business hours when needed
