About the role:
Are you interested in social media strategy, digital storytelling, and executive communications? We’re looking for an entry-level Social Media Manager to develop and manage social media strategy for senior leadership accounts. You’ll create engaging content, coordinate digital storytelling tied to major announcements and events, and ensure leadership messaging is timely and authentic across platforms.
In this role, you’ll work closely with communications and marketing teams to craft content that highlights institutional priorities and community engagement. You’ll manage real-time social media needs, support event coverage, track analytics, and help coordinate strategic messaging across multiple digital channels.
This position requires flexibility to cover some evening and weekend events as needed.
What you’ll do:
• Develop and publish digital content aligned with institutional priorities and leadership messaging• Draft social media copy, captions, and short-form digital content• Create, edit, and coordinate photography, video, graphics and multimedia content• Coordinate digital storytelling for major announcements, events, and institutional milestones• Collaborate with media relations, multimedia, and marketing teams on integrated campaigns• Support live event coverage and real-time communication needs• Assist with rapid-response digital communications during emerging situations• Track analytics and report on social media engagement and performance• Monitor audience sentiment, social media trends, and conversations relevant to leadership visibility• Stay aware of digital communications trends in your industry
Skills/background needed:

Ideal candidates will have:
• Bachelor’s degree (in any field)• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and audience• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities• Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)• Basic understanding of digital storytelling and audience engagement• Strong organisational and time management skills• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments• Problem-solving mindset• Experience with social media analytics and content publishing platforms is a plus, but not required

Physical demands:
This role is primarily desk-based, involving sitting for extended periods. You may occasionally need to stand, walk, or carry light items (up to 25 lbs).
Travel: Occasional travel (approximately 10% of the time) may be required for events and coverage.
