About This Role
We’re looking for a part-time Social Media Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day social media presence and help grow our brand within the sports community. This is a fully remote position, perfect for someone who wants to build social media management experience while working flexible hours from home.
You’ll manage our content calendar, create and publish engaging content, develop fresh ideas, interact with our audience, track performance, and collaborate with the team to continuously improve our social media strategy. This role is approximately 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
What You’ll Do
Content Strategy & Calendar
Build and maintain weekly and monthly content calendars with a consistent posting schedule across platforms. Develop platform-specific content strategies suited to each channel’s unique audience and format. Plan content around current events, trends, news stories, product updates, and relevant happenings in the sports world. Bring new content ideas and creative concepts to brainstorming sessions with the team.
Content Creation
Create graphics, carousels, short-form videos, and other social media assets using tools like Canva and modern creative software. Write compelling captions, hooks, and platform-specific copy. Turn company updates, player stories, and sports trends into engaging content. Explore AI tools and emerging technology to improve content quality and production speed. Work with designers or video editors as needed while maintaining ownership of the final product and meeting deadlines.
Social Media Management & Community
Schedule and publish content consistently across all platforms. Maintain a recognizable and authentic brand voice in all your posts and interactions. Respond to comments and engage with relevant users and accounts. Monitor sports trends, creators, and conversations to spot timely content opportunities. Help grow followers, engagement, reach, and overall brand awareness.
Analytics & Growth
Track reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth, and top-performing content. Provide regular performance updates to the team. Use analytics to identify what’s working and where the strategy should evolve. Suggest new campaigns, collaborations, and growth opportunities. Experiment with new content formats and distribution strategies.
Team Collaboration
Participate in approximately one team meeting per week. Come prepared with content ideas, trends, and opportunities. Work with the team to understand product updates and company priorities, then turn those developments into timely social content.
Skills & Background Needed
No prior professional experience required. We’re looking for someone with:
Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Facebook, plus current social media trends. Ability to create visually compelling graphics and short-form video content. Strong writing and communication skills. Ability to independently manage a content calendar and meet consistent deadlines. Creative mindset and willingness to test new ideas and formats. Self-starter mentality—comfortable working with minimal oversight. Reliable, organized, and responsive communication style. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Experience That’s a Plus
Any background in sports, sports media, or sports marketing. Experience with AI tools for content creation, graphic design, or video production. Familiarity with technology startups. Interest in emerging content creation tools and technologies.
We want someone excited about where content creation is heading. We encourage experimentation with the latest technology and want our social channels to feel modern, creative, and ahead of the curve.
Content Direction
We’re building social channels that people genuinely want to follow for great content and insights. Potential content themes include player spotlights and stories, sports news and trends, scouting insights, player comparisons, sports data and analytics, creative and entertaining sports content, behind-the-scenes team content, and educational material. We welcome your own fresh ideas and content formats.
