About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative and organised Social Media Specialist to develop, implement and manage social media strategies that engage audiences and build a strong online presence. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for storytelling and content creation who wants to grow their career in digital marketing.

You’ll work with a variety of social media platforms, create engaging content, monitor trends, and collaborate with teams to highlight stories and achievements. This is a hands-on position that combines creativity with data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with organisational goals and brand guidelines
• Create, curate and schedule engaging content including graphics, videos and written posts across multiple platforms
• Manage official social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter
• Respond to comments, messages and mentions in a timely and professional manner
• Monitor social media trends and platform updates to stay current with best practices
• Analyse performance metrics and generate reports to assess campaign effectiveness
• Collaborate with internal teams and partners to develop and share compelling stories
• Ensure all content aligns with brand voice, tone and strategic objectives
• Maintain a social media calendar to plan and schedule timely, channel-appropriate content
• Support training and guidance on social media best practices as needed

Skills/Background Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in social media management or content development
• Hands-on experience creating content for social media (copywriting, video editing, graphics)
• Ability to use social media management platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable learning new tools and platforms
• Excellent organisational and time management skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with video editing, motion graphics or photography
• Familiarity with design software
• Experience with Meta Business Suite or similar social media management systems
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and data privacy standards
