Social Media Specialist – Full Time (Remote)

About the role:

We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy. You’ll manage primary social media channels, coordinate with team members and brand ambassadors, and ensure a consistent, compelling voice across all platforms. This is a full-time, fully remote position.

What you’ll do:

Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement a strategic social media plan aligned with organizational priorities. Establish measurable goals and benchmarks for performance. Monitor trends and best practices to continuously refine your approach.

Content Development & Execution
Create, curate, and publish engaging, platform-appropriate content including text, graphics, photography, and video across social media channels. Collaborate with internal teams to highlight key initiatives, success stories, and events. Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms.

Audience Engagement & Community Management
Monitor social media channels and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner. Foster meaningful engagement with audience members. Identify opportunities for real-time content and storytelling.

Campaign Support
Partner with relevant teams to support targeted and organic social media efforts. Assist in developing campaigns that drive engagement and conversions. Utilize paid social media advertising as appropriate.

Coordination & Content Network
Serve as the primary liaison for social media efforts across departments and programmes. Develop guidelines and training resources to support other content managers. Coordinate and manage a network of brand ambassadors to expand reach and authenticity. Ensure alignment with branding and messaging standards.

Analytics & Reporting
Track, analyze, and report on social media performance using platform analytics and other tools. Provide regular insights and recommendations to improve engagement and reach. Present performance reports to leadership and stakeholders.

Skills/background needed:

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic design, journalism, or a related field (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
• Experience planning and coordinating social media marketing strategies
• Demonstrated experience creating engaging content across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools

Preferred:
• Experience managing or contributing to paid social media campaigns
• Basic photography, videography, and graphic design skills (Canva or similar tools)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Exceptional organizational and proofreading skills
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when needed

Contract length: Permanent, Full-Time

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
