We’re looking for an enthusiastic Sports Journalist to join our team. This is a full-time role perfect for someone passionate about telling compelling sports stories across multiple platforms.
In this role, you’ll create engaging sports content including articles, videos, and social media posts. You’ll cover live sporting events, report on breaking sports news, and develop stories that go beyond basic scores and highlights. You’ll also have opportunities to present content on air and build relationships with athletes, coaches, and community leaders.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll shoot, write, edit, and present your own stories for daily newscasts and special coverage. You’ll work across all platforms with an audience-first mindset, creating content for our website and social media channels. Weekend work will be part of your schedule.
What you’ll be doing:
• Create engaging digital content including articles, videos, and social-first storytelling
• Shoot, write, edit, and present sports stories for newscasts and special coverage
• Cover live sporting events and breaking sports news
• Develop relationships with athletes, coaches, schools, and community leaders
• Produce content for our website and all social media platforms
• Tell stories with strong production value and memorable impact
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing and storytelling abilities
• Basic shooting and video editing skills (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to work independently and meet daily deadlines
• Good on-camera presence and communication skills
• Comfort working as part of a team
• Passion for sports and digital storytelling
• Some multimedia news or sports experience is helpful but not required
