About the role
We’re looking for an entry-level writer to join our growing team in the trade and logistics industry. You’ll work on preparing and reviewing customs documentation for import and export shipments. This is a hybrid role based in California, blending remote flexibility with on-site collaboration.
Full training will be provided. If you’re detail-oriented and interested in learning the customs and freight forwarding space, this could be a great opportunity to start your career.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review customs documentation for shipments, including entry forms, invoices, and bills of lading• Ensure all documentation complies with relevant regulations, including proper classification, valuation, and duty assessments• Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs officials to resolve issues and provide shipment updates• Address and resolve discrepancies or issues related to customs entries, working to meet deadlines• Provide customer service, answering questions about customs processes and documentation• Work collaboratively with a team to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
Skills/background needed:
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills• Written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work in a team• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines• Proficiency with business software and documentation tools• English language fluency (required)• Willingness to learn customs regulations and trade compliance procedures
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time, permanent position
Location: Hybrid – West Covina, California. Applicants must be able to commute to the on-site location.
