Roles: Technical Writer, Editor, Documentation Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
We’re hiring a Technical Writer and Editor to develop, coordinate, and produce technical documentation and procedural guides. You’ll work on-site in a Government office environment, collaborating with engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts to create clear, well-formatted technical materials. This is an excellent entry point into technical writing with full training and support provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the production of technical documents, procedures, and guidelines with engineers and project managers, ensuring alignment with project requirements and deadlines
• Incorporate diagrams, photographs, and images into Word documents using templates provided
• Perform independent research and communicate with subject matter experts to complete technical documentation
• Track technical documents through review cycles and oversee final production according to project timelines
• Attend review meetings and incorporate feedback from stakeholders
• Write and edit technical documentation and procedures, applying standard English composition and grammar standards
• Deliver technical documents to relevant teams for approval, meeting established review timelines
• Maintain version control and tracking of all documentation in progress
• Support administrative and correspondence functions as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and standard MS Office tools
• Ability to conduct independent research and synthesize input from multiple sources
• Experience with or willingness to learn technical drawing interpretation
• Attention to detail and ability to follow established formatting standards
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, Engineering, or related field
• Prior experience writing or editing procedures or operational guides
• Familiarity with safety and certification standards in technical environments
• Prior experience in a configuration-controlled documentation environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is an on-site role based in a Government office environment. You’ll work standard business hours with occasional travel on an as-needed basis. Full training and onboarding support will be provided to help you succeed in this role.
