We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and help create clear, accurate documentation that supports product development and training initiatives.
About the role:
In this position, you’ll work with engineers and technical teams to create and maintain engineering specifications, test plans, procedures, and related technical documentation. You’ll draft, review, and edit documents to ensure they’re clear, consistent, and meet established standards. You’ll also coordinate document reviews, incorporate feedback from subject matter experts, and support documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
• Create, edit, and maintain engineering specifications, test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation
• Draft, review, and edit documents for consistency, clarity, grammar, and compliance with documentation standards
• Develop training documentation to support operational goals
• Coordinate document reviews and consolidate technical inputs from subject matter experts
• Maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle and incorporate stakeholder feedback
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and programme teams to understand products and documentation requirements
• Ensure all deliverables meet established formatting and quality standards
Skills/background needed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, STEM, English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in a similar role
• Understanding of technical information and ability to explain it clearly to non-technical audiences
• Ability to develop procedures and work instructions with guidance from technical experts
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience in advanced formatting, templates, and tracked changes preferred
• Excellent technical writing, editing, proofreading, and document organisation skills
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, engineering drawings, and specifications
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and technicians
• Experience in aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or regulated industries is a plus
Work environment:
This is an on-site role based at our workplace. You’ll work in a professional office environment and occasionally in manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment may be required. Some travel between office locations may be needed (less than 5% of the time).
