About the role:
We’re looking for a Technical Writer to create clear, standardized documentation for equipment manuals, instruction guides, procedure documents, and related technical publications. This is a great entry point into technical writing if you have strong attention to detail and can follow structured guidelines.
You’ll receive technical information, operating procedures, and reference materials from your supervisor. You may also observe equipment in use to verify procedures and gather additional details. Your job is to organize this information into clear, well-structured documents following a consistent style and terminology.
What you’ll do:
• Write and revise technical documentation covering work methods, procedures, installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment
• Create standardized manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, and catalogues
• Select and integrate photographs, diagrams, sketches, charts, and drawings to illustrate technical content
• Access technical drawings, blueprints, parts lists, and specifications to verify procedures and integrate operational details
• Organize material according to set standards for clarity, order, conciseness, style, and terminology
• Maintain organized records and files of your work and document revisions
• Assist with page layout and publication preparation
Skills/background needed:
• Strong writing skills with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and concisely
• Ability to follow standardized formats and style guidelines consistently
• Comfortable working with technical drawings, diagrams, and reference materials
• Organized and detail-oriented approach to documentation
• Ability to work from written instructions and supervisor guidance
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word or similar document creation tools
Full training provided. If you’re new to technical writing but have solid writing skills and attention to detail, we’ll guide you through the process and help you develop expertise in creating equipment documentation.
