Technical Writer – Industrial Systems Remote Entry Level

We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and help create clear, accurate documentation for complex industrial automation systems. You’ll work with engineers, software developers, and project managers to develop technical guides, operating procedures, and user documentation that help customers and operators understand system functionality and workflows.

This is a fully remote role perfect for someone entering the technical writing field. You’ll receive full training and work closely with experienced team members who will guide you through the documentation process.

What You’ll Be Doing

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, software developers, and project managers to gather and organize technical information
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including system guides, procedures, user manuals, and customer deliverables
  • Create and improve documentation for system architecture, operational workflows, and technical processes
  • Review diagrams, system workflows, and engineering documentation to improve clarity and usability
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation for customers, operators, technicians, and internal teams
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings to ensure documentation accuracy
  • Maintain document version control and revision history throughout projects
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with documentation standards
  • Stay informed of product updates, software releases, and system changes
  • Support improvements to documentation processes and standards

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and project teams
  • Communicate project status and activities to leadership as needed
  • Respond to communications in a timely manner
  • Support documentation management and maintain project records

Skills/background needed:

  • Familiarity with industrial systems or power generation
  • Experience with document control practices

Contract details

Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Location: Fully remote – work from anywhere.
