About the role
We’re looking for a PhD-level scientist to help create clear, accurate, and compassionate content about pet health and wellness. You’ll work with peer-reviewed research to develop accessible articles for pet families, ensuring every piece meets high standards for scientific integrity and clarity.
This is a volunteer position, fully remote, with flexible hours (typically 4–8 hours per week). You’ll collaborate with an editorial team while building a portfolio of published, mission-driven content.
What you’ll do
• Review and synthesize peer-reviewed scientific literature on assigned topics
• Develop clear, accurate content written for a general audience (high-school reading level)
• Ensure scientific accuracy and proper contextualization of research findings
• Provide constructive feedback to strengthen drafts and maintain quality
• Collaborate with the editorial team to meet timelines and communicate progress
• Support continuous improvement of content quality and processes
About you
You hold a PhD in a life science, veterinary science, biology, medicine, psychology, or closely related field. You have demonstrated experience translating scientific literature for non-specialist audiences, strong writing and editing skills, and high attention to detail. You’re able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team, and you’re genuinely passionate about making complex research understandable and useful.
