Role: Volunteer Social Media Content Creator & Scheduler
About the role:
We’re looking for a creative individual to help repurpose long-form video content into short-form clips (35–90 seconds) for social media. You’ll identify key moments, add captions and overlays, write engaging titles and descriptions, and schedule posts across platforms on a consistent publishing calendar. This is a fully remote volunteer position perfect for building portfolio experience in content creation and social media management.
What you’ll do:
- Watch long-form video content and identify 35–90 second segments that work as standalone clips
- Edit clips with captions, overlays, and graphics following provided templates
- Write platform-optimized titles, descriptions, and captions for each post
- Prepare assets ready for publishing (thumbnails, pin variations, platform-specific formats)
- Schedule posts across social platforms using scheduling software
- Maintain a content calendar and track publishing performance
- Provide weekly content summaries and flag standout moments for approval before publishing
Skills/background needed:
- Experience creating or editing short-form video content
- Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva
- Comfortable using Google Docs, Google Sheets, and scheduling platforms (or willing to learn)
- Strong writing skills for captions, titles, and social media copy
- Able to commit approximately 5–10 hours per week for at least 4–6 months
- Preferred: experience scheduling on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram; familiarity with platform best practices
Rate: Unpaid volunteer position (excellent for portfolio building)
Contract length: 4–6 months minimum
Location: Remote – work from anywhere
