We’re looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Assistant to help manage and promote departmental events, opportunities, and community throughout the year. This is a hybrid role perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, staying organized, and helping build an active, engaged community online and in person.
What you’ll do:
Manage and maintain social media accounts with weekly posts promoting departmental events, internships, publication opportunities, and job openings
Create engaging features highlighting faculty, students, and alumni achievements
Photograph departmental events and prepare content for social media sharing
Conduct interviews with faculty and researchers to create compelling content
Research and feature alumni accomplishments and career updates
Assist with event setup, cleanup, and coordination (including occasional after-hours events)
Skills/background needed:
Interest in or familiarity with social media platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized, responsible, and reliable
Community-minded with a friendly approach to engagement
Basic photography or media skills a plus, but not required
No prior professional experience necessary—full training will be provided
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.

Work mode: Hybrid—primarily work from home with occasional on-campus presence as needed. You’ll use your judgment to be on-site when it best supports your responsibilities, with advance notice when possible.
