About the role:
We’re looking for a Social Media Content Creator to develop and share engaging content across Instagram and Facebook. This role is perfect for someone who genuinely understands social media culture and loves creating content that resonates with audiences.
You’ll be responsible for:
Content Creation (40%)
Capture, shoot, edit, and produce high-quality short-form video and photography optimized for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. Create creative content ideas based on trends and audience behavior. Turn events, program highlights, and visitor moments into compelling social content. Attend events and capture real-time content with rapid turnaround. Write engaging captions and post copy. Edit content using tools like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar software.
Content Strategy & Management (35%)
Manage social media calendars and daily publishing across Instagram and Facebook. Identify opportunities for both planned content and real-time, trending moments. Track and analyze what’s working using platform analytics to optimize future content. Engage authentically with community through comments and messages. Stay current with platform changes and emerging content formats. Submit content for approval before publishing.
Collaboration & Support (25%)
Work collaboratively with the team to develop content strategy and align with campaigns and organizational priorities. Collaborate across departments to identify compelling stories and content opportunities. Provide visual content to support email campaigns, website updates, and other marketing efforts. Communicate professionally and accept feedback to work toward a shared creative vision.
Skills & background needed:
Experience creating social media content or working in digital marketing. A portfolio demonstrating social-first creative work across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube. Proficiency with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut. Experience with photography and videography. Strong writing skills for captions and post copy. Knowledge of how Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok algorithms work. Ability to identify trends and create trend-aware content. Experience managing social channels for consumer-facing brands or mission-driven organizations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Nice to have:
Experience working in education, nonprofits, or children’s organizations. Experience capturing content at events in real-time. Familiarity with social media analytics tools. Experience managing multiple brand accounts. Knowledge of accessibility best practices for social content.
