About the Role
We’re looking for an entry-level Technical Documentation Illustrator to join a creative team that develops clear, accurate technical graphics and illustrations. In this role, you’ll create and modify 2D and 3D technical drawings, turn complex engineering data into user-friendly visual guides, and ensure all technical content meets quality standards.
This is a full-time, fully remote position where you’ll work with engineers, writers, and team members to bring technical documentation to life. You’ll manage file systems, review and update technical illustrations, and help maintain the visual accuracy of technical manuals and publications.
What You’ll Do
• Create and modify 2D and 3D technical drawings and graphics
• Transform engineering data into clear, visual technical guides
• Review illustrations and technical content for accuracy and completeness
• Update and troubleshoot technical documentation and illustrations
• Work with schematics, cabling diagrams, block diagrams, and part breakdowns
• Manage and organize large volumes of files and illustration databases
• Collaborate with engineers and technical writers to understand project goals
• Review and incorporate feedback on technical illustrations
• Meet established schedules and deadlines using cloud-based file systems
Skills and Experience Needed
• Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Experience with PDF creation and editing tools (Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Experience with file management and organizing large volumes of data
• Knowledge of technical drawing standards and conventions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
• Comfortable learning new tools and technical concepts
Desirable Experience
• Experience with technical illustration software such as IsoDraw
• Background with 3D modeling tools
• Familiarity with industry-standard markup and documentation standards
• Understanding of technical documentation best practices
