The Opportunity:
As a Technical Editor, you’ll review written content for grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as clarity, logic, and consistency. You’ll ensure that style and formatting meet established standards, and that language is consistent with approved style guides. You’ll work with tables, text boxes, and graphics to ensure all content is clear and cohesive, and that proper formatting is applied throughout.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical editing skills while working closely with authors to improve their work. You’ll gain experience in content revision, narrative organization, and communication. You’ll be part of a team focused on continuous learning and professional growth, with access to mentoring and training in new tools and techniques.
What You’ll Do:
– Review content for grammar, syntax, clarity, and consistency- Ensure all writing follows established style guides and formatting standards- Work with authors to revise and improve content organisation- Edit tables, diagrams, and supporting graphics for accuracy and clarity- Apply proper formatting and classification markings as required- Manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
Skills/background needed:
– Knowledge of classification and security procedures- Experience handling multiple tasks and adapting to priority changes- Technical editing experience with finished written products- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional editing experience- No prior experience required – full training provided
Nice to have:
– Previous experience editing technical or specialised content- Familiarity with style manuals for technical or professional writing
Clearance:
This role requires security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and eligibility review for access to classified information.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
Contract length: Full-time
Location: Remote – work from home with occasional in-person meetings as needed.
