Technical Writer – Manufacturing Documentation (Entry Level)

General Purpose:

You will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation for manufacturing processes. This includes writing work instructions, updating procedures, and managing document changes within a document control system. This is a great entry point into technical writing if you have strong communication skills and attention to detail.

What You’ll Do:

• Create clear work instructions for products and processes

• Update and maintain standard procedures and process documentation

• Submit and track document changes within the company’s document control system

• Ensure accurate distribution of documents to support production teams

• Manage materials and tools needed for document creation

• Follow all workplace safety policies

• Support other areas of the business as needed

Skills/background needed:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong spelling, grammar, and attention to detail

• Ability to learn technical concepts and explain them clearly

• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and presentation software

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with guidance

• Comfortable working with people at all levels and externally with customers

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication or related field preferred. Relevant technical writing experience is a plus, but we provide full training on our systems and processes.
