About the Role:
We’re looking for a creative, enthusiastic content writer to join our marketing team on a part-time basis. You’ll be responsible for managing and coordinating marketing campaigns, social media content, and community outreach efforts under the guidance of a supervisor. This is a great opportunity to build real-world marketing experience while working with a team that’s passionate about connecting with their community.
What You’ll Do:
• Write, edit, and proofread marketing materials including flyers, posters, newsletters, and promotional content
• Manage social media accounts: create content, respond to comments, and engage with the community
• Develop and maintain consistent messaging across all marketing channels
• Collaborate with team members from different departments to understand community needs and promote services
• Design simple graphics and layouts using design software like Canva
• Create and analyze surveys to gather community feedback
• Help coordinate messaging for community events and outreach activities
• Monitor statistics and usage data to measure marketing success
• Participate in team meetings and community events as needed
Skills/background needed:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with social media platforms
• Experience with Canva or similar design tools (or willingness to learn)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative
• Spanish language skills are a plus
What We’re Looking For:
You don’t need prior professional experience to succeed in this role. We’re looking for someone who is creative, energetic, and genuinely interested in marketing and community engagement. A background or degree in communications, digital media, or marketing is helpful but not required. What matters most is your ability to write clearly, think creatively, and work well with others.
We welcome applicants with a portfolio or examples of previous writing or design work—this could be school projects, volunteer work, or personal creative projects.
Contract length: Part Time, 21 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible scheduling with some evenings and weekends required to support community programs and events
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application
