Service Writer – Entry Level, On-Site

We’re looking for a Service Writer to manage the front-office side of a busy repair shop.

You’ll keep customers informed, organize incoming work, and help technicians stay on track. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be the central point of communication between customers, the team, and management.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

● Answering phones, texts, and customer inquiries

● Writing estimates and repair orders

● Scheduling incoming work and managing the shop calendar

● Communicating with customers about diagnostics, repairs, approvals, pricing, and completion dates

● Following up on estimates to get work approved

● Keeping technicians supplied with the information they need for each job

● Ordering and tracking parts

● Keeping customers updated on vehicle status

● Processing invoices and payment collection

● Identifying additional needed repairs and presenting recommendations to customers

● Keeping the front office and workflow organized

● Working with the team to keep jobs moving forward

Who You Are

You don’t need prior automotive experience to succeed in this role—we’ll provide full training. What matters most is that you’re:

● Organized and able to manage multiple priorities at once

● Comfortable having conversations with customers about repair costs

● Professional and personable on the phone

● Proactive about following up rather than waiting for customers to reach out

● Able to work well with technicians and learn repair information as you go

● Reliable and consistent with attendance

● Ready to take ownership of problems and solve them

● Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Prior automotive service experience is a bonus, but we value organization, communication skills, and a willingness to learn above all else.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll be the person who knows what’s happening with every job in the shop—what’s being waited on, what needs customer approval, what parts are on order, and what happens next. Customers won’t have to chase you for updates, technicians won’t have to hunt for information, and jobs won’t stall because of missed follow-ups.
