Position Overview:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Communications Writer to join our team. You’ll develop, implement, and manage our communications and marketing efforts while helping build community awareness and engagement. No prior experience is required—we provide full training and mentorship to help you succeed in this role.
What You’ll Do:
Content & Communications:
- Write, edit, and produce communications materials including brochures, newsletters, email campaigns, and social media content
- Develop, manage, and update website content
- Create and schedule social media posts across multiple platforms
- Maintain consistent messaging and visual branding across all materials
- Assist with promotional videos and awareness campaigns
- Track and report on website, social media, and marketing performance
Media & Outreach:
- Write and distribute press releases and media announcements
- Build relationships with local media contacts
- Support public speaking and media interview coordination
- Participate in community outreach activities and awareness initiatives
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders
Additional Support:
- Assist with event planning and fundraising campaign materials
- Help coordinate volunteer appreciation activities
- Maintain records and prepare monthly performance reports
- Support other team initiatives as needed
Skills & Background Needed:
No prior experience required—we provide comprehensive training on all tools and systems. You’ll benefit from having:
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Comfort learning design tools like Canva and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Ability to organize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Friendly, collaborative personality
- Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends
Experience with email marketing platforms, website management, or WordPress is helpful but not required—we’ll train you on everything.
