We’re seeking a creative, communicative writer to join our public relations team. If you love storytelling, building relationships, and turning great ideas into meaningful media coverage, this role is for you.
No prior PR experience is required. Full training will be provided, and you’ll work alongside experienced team members who will guide you through every aspect of the role.
What you’ll do:
Writing & Storytelling
You’ll craft compelling press releases, media pitches, founder stories, talking points, and media kits. You’ll learn to identify strong editorial angles that make clients relevant and newsworthy, and adapt messaging for different publications and audiences.
Media Relations
Build and maintain relationships with editors, journalists, producers, podcast hosts, and other media contacts. You’ll conduct media outreach and follow-up, and identify timely opportunities for client features, interviews, and coverage.
Research & Organization
Research media opportunities, trends, and emerging platforms. You’ll maintain organized media lists, outreach records, and campaign tracking using digital tools and spreadsheets.
Outreach
Conduct targeted outreach on behalf of clients. Stay informed on cultural trends and news cycles to identify new opportunities for the people and brands you represent.
Crisis Support
Assist in developing strategic responses to sensitive situations, with an emphasis on discretion, accuracy, and reputation management.
Skills/background needed:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong writing and storytelling abilities
• Proficiency with Canva (other design tools will be taught)
• Organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful
• Comfortable communicating with media contacts, clients, and industry professionals
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Willingness to attend select events and activations as needed
• Genuine passion for storytelling and relationship building
Experience in PR, communications, media, or related fields is a plus, but not required. We’re looking for curiosity, reliability, and enthusiasm more than a lengthy resume.
What we offer:
• Full training and mentorship from experienced team members
• Flexible part-time schedule with opportunity to grow
• Work in a fast-paced, creative environment
• Exposure to high-profile clients and media relationships
• Potential for ongoing or expanded opportunities
