Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Entry Writer to join our logistics team. In this role, you will prepare, review, and submit accurate customs entries to ensure seamless clearance of goods across international borders. Your work in customs regulations and trade compliance will help maintain regulatory adherence and support efficient supply chain operations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to smooth freight movement while ensuring all relevant customs and transportation safety standards are met.
Duties
• Prepare and process customs entries using trade management software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations
• Review shipment documentation for completeness and correctness, including invoices, bills of lading, and export/import permits
• Collaborate with freight carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams to facilitate timely customs clearance and resolve discrepancies
• Review and verify import documentation to initiate file processing and entry procedures
• Monitor entries for release from all government agencies
• Coordinate with clients and logistics partners on delivery and clearance timelines
• Process vendor payments and resolve billing matters accurately
• Ensure correct commodity classification for all entries
• Provide friendly customer service and communicate effectively with clients and partners
• Assist team members and continuously expand your customs knowledge to advance your skills and career progression
Skills/Background Needed
• Basic knowledge of customs regulations and international trade documentation
• Comfort with computer systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work proactively and problem-solve issues as they arise
• Full training will be provided on customs procedures, software systems, and all regulatory requirements
