About the role
We’re looking for a Grant Writer to join our team in a full-time, remote position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to support mission-driven work and develop professional skills in fundraising and grant writing.
As a Grant Writer, you’ll play a key role in securing funding to support our programs and services. You’ll work with a dedicated team to research funding opportunities, write compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry, and maintain records of fundraising activities and outcomes. This position offers the chance to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership and regional team members.
What you’ll do
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Research donor prospects and prepare summaries and recommendations for the development team
• Write grants, proposals, letters of inquiry, and impact reports to support fundraising goals
• Draft donor communications, acknowledgment letters, and thank you notes
• Log donor interactions and maintain accurate records in a CRM system
• Prepare reports on grant submission success rates and fundraising performance
• Collaborate with leadership and regional teams to align fundraising activities with organizational goals
• Support the marketing team with donor recognition materials and impact reports
• Assist with newsletters and other communications as needed
• Help identify new funding opportunities and expansion possibilities
What we’re looking for
You don’t need extensive experience to succeed in this role. We’re seeking someone with:
• A bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit work and grant writing (or willingness to learn)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written communication with accurate grammar and spelling
• Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
• A passion for supporting education and community impact
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• A valid driver’s license
Experience with CRM systems is a bonus but not required—we’ll provide training on the tools you’ll use.
Rate: Competitive entry-level pay, details shared upon application.
