About this role:
We’re looking for a self-motivated Grant Writer to join our nonprofit team. You’ll play a key part in securing funding through grant writing, donor relationship management, and fundraising campaign support. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for someone eager to grow their skills in nonprofit development while making a real impact.
What you’ll do:
Your core responsibilities will include:
• Write grant proposals and grant reports in collaboration with team members
• Research funding opportunities and develop compelling funding proposals
• Manage grant calendars and track reporting deadlines
• Maintain and update the donor database, including gift entry and donor acknowledgements
• Create marketing materials, newsletters, and annual reports
• Promote campaigns and organizational news through social media and email platforms
• Work with staff to gather testimonials and program outcome data
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, funders, and community partners
• Assist with fundraising campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, and donor stewardship
• Attend organizational meetings and donor events as needed
• Support development leadership with additional tasks as assigned
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Ideally, you’ll have:
• 2+ years of experience with nonprofit grant writing (or willingness to learn with mentorship)
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with donor databases or willingness to learn quickly
• Familiarity with social media platforms
• Excellent organizational and proofreading skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfort working with people from diverse backgrounds
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required if you have strong relevant experience.
Work environment:
This is an on-site position based at our workplace. You’ll work Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM–1:00 PM, with flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs. Occasional local travel to partner facilities may be required.
