Junior Technical Writer – Remote

Overview:

We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and help create clear, accurate documentation that supports product development and training. You’ll work with engineers and subject matter experts to transform complex technical information into documents that anyone can understand—from specifications and test plans to procedures and training materials.

This is a fully remote position ideal for someone starting or building a career in technical writing. You’ll receive full training, work alongside experienced colleagues, and develop real skills in document creation, editing, and technical communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including specifications, procedures, and reports

• Draft and review documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with documentation standards

• Develop training documentation and materials to support team learning

• Coordinate document reviews and gather technical input from subject matter experts

• Maintain documentation throughout the product lifecycle and incorporate feedback into updates

• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to understand products, processes, and documentation needs

• Ensure all documents meet quality, formatting, and organizational standards

Skills/background needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, STEM, English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar technical writing or documentation role (or equivalent demonstrated experience)

• Ability to understand technical information and explain it clearly to non-technical audiences

• Experience creating procedures, work instructions, and technical content with guidance from experts

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with document formatting, styles, templates, and tracked changes is a plus

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or regulated industries is helpful but not required
