We’re looking for a Multimedia Journalist to produce, report, write, and edit news content for digital platforms in a way that’s clear, engaging, and meaningful to our audience.
What you’ll do:
Report news stories for various platforms, describing the background and details of events in an accessible way. Arrange interviews with sources who can provide relevant information. Review and correct content for grammar, punctuation, and style consistency. Research and analyze background information to provide complete and accurate reporting. Gather information through research, interviews, and direct observation of events. Pitch story ideas to editors that are relevant to your audience. Evaluate leads and tips to develop new story angles. Shoot and edit news content. Write stories for web and digital platforms. Interact with viewers and readers on social media. Handle revisions to meet editorial standards and time requirements. Ensure all work meets journalistic integrity standards. Perform additional assignments as needed.
Skills/background needed:
Fluency in English. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Comfortable on camera and presenting to an audience. Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize multiple assignments, and work under pressure. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends. A portfolio of previous writing or journalism work is helpful but not required.
