Speechwriter – Entry Level (On-Site)

About the role:

We’re looking for a Speechwriter to support strategic communications and engagement activities. In this role, you’ll craft compelling speeches, talking points, and written materials that communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences. You’ll work with senior leadership, research topics thoroughly, and translate technical information into clear, engaging content.

What you’ll be doing:

• Write and edit speeches, talking points, and other communications materials for leadership, following industry-standard writing styles
• Interview subject matter experts to gather insights on complex topics and translate them into plain-language speeches and articles
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and other team members to develop story ideas, speech concepts, and content strategies
• Research topics quickly and prepare remarks for various events and engagements
• Draft newsletter articles and other communications for publication
• Create presentations to support speeches and communications
• Attend speaking engagements to observe and refine your craft
• Work with the team to coordinate schedules and ensure coverage of key events

Skills/background needed:

• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to feedback and adjust work under shifting priorities and tight timelines
• Strong writing skills with experience in speeches, executive communications, or thought leadership
• Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, persuasive, and engaging content
• Solid research skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Interest in learning industry-standard writing styles and web content practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred but not required
• U.S. citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain clearance

Work environment:

This is an on-site position based at the workplace. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment alongside leadership and subject matter experts.
